Other Nature is a digital archive of synthetic ecologies — landscapes that exist only inside simulations, games and generative models. We designed the taxonomy, the interface and the visual language for cataloguing places that were never anywhere.

New ecologies for synthetic worlds

The archive treats a rendered forest with the same curatorial seriousness as a real one: provenance, climate, extinction risk. Some entries are already unviewable; their renderers no longer run.
